Breastfeeding Support

I provide compassionate, non-judgmental, and holistic breastfeeding support to parents. Whether you are a first-time parent or this is a second or subsequent baby, I understand that breastfeeding can sometimes feel challenging, and I am here to guide and empower you through every step of your journey.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful yet complex experience that can be both intensely rewarding but also sometimes difficult. As a certified breastfeeding counsellor, I am here to provide you with the support, knowledge, and confidence you need, without any pressure or judgment. My holistic approach recognises that every parent and baby dyad are unique, and I tailor my support to your specific needs, circumstances, and goals.

What I Offer:

  • Antenatal Lactation Education - I believe that informed parents are empowered parents. I provide evidence-based information on all aspects of breastfeeding, including anatomy and physiology, breast milk composition, and infant feeding cues. Knowledge is key to building your confidence and helping you make informed decisions, should any challenges crop up once your baby arrives.

  • 1:1 Postnatal Breastfeeding Support - bespoke consultations where I will assess your breastfeeding concerns, observe you and your baby feeding, suggest ways to improve any issues, and help you create a plan that works for you and your baby. Whether you're struggling with latching or positioning issues, low milk supply, nipple pain, or any other breastfeeding challenge, I can support you with practical advice and emotional reassurance.

  • Breastfeeding And Returning to Work - returning to work after maternity leave can present new challenges in maintaining breastfeeding. I offer strategies for managing expressing, storing milk, and balancing work with feeding, so you can continue to provide breast milk for your baby with ease.

  • Reflux Support - I support parents in managing reflux while breastfeeding or combination feeding, including guidance on optimal feeding positions, paced feeding techniques, recognising signs of reflux vs. normal newborn behaviour, and signposting for further support to explore potential dietary adjustments if needed - all while ensuring breastfeeding remains as comfortable and effective as possible for both baby and parent.

I take the time to understand you and your family as a whole. My support extends beyond just feeding techniques. I consider your emotional well-being, physical health, family dynamics, and lifestyle to provide holistic, integrated care that fits your needs.

I understand that every family’s breastfeeding journey is different. Whether you are exclusively breastfeeding, supplementing with formula, or facing difficulties that require a combination of feeding methods, I provide a supportive environment free from judgment. Your choices are respected, and I focus on what works best for you and your family.

I had a breastfeeding consultation with Emily who was so professional and thorough in the questions she asked. She has a fountain of knowledge and was so reassuring and non judgemental. I really felt Emily listened to my individual situation and was able to tailor the advice she gave me. Things improved for me as a result and I would definitely recommend her.
